Andrew Petersen, DDS
Dr. Andrew Petersen was born and raised in Gilbert Arizona. He attended BYU-Hawaii prior to transferring to Arizona State University where he majored in biology. He took two years out of his studies to serve a two year mission for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. He served in Ethiopia, Kenya, Uganda, and Tanzania. After completing his studies, Dr. Petersen attended dental school at the University of the Pacific in San Francisco.
He then returned to Gilbert to practice general dentistry for six years before choosing to receive additional training to become an oral surgeon. He completed a one year internship at John Peter Smith hospital in Fort Worth before his residency at Allegheny General Hospital in Pittsburgh. His training during his internship and residency included emphasis on orthognathic surgery, implants, and TMJ surgery.
Outside of work, Dr. Petersen enjoys spending time with his wife and six children. They share a love for music, movies, and seeing Arizona’s historical sites. He has been involved with Boy Scouts of America as well as other youth programs. He is excited to be back in his hometown to serve the communities of the East Valley!
Returning to Arizona Dr. Anderson has now found a new home with Sonoma Oral and Facial Surgery and looks forward to serving you and your patients for the duration of his career.
