Facial Liposuction
Facial liposuction is generally performed under IV sedation or general anesthesia in or state-of-the-art facility on an outpatient basis. Dr. Spanganberg makes small (less than 1/2-inch), discreet incisions in the face or neck. A cannula is inserted in a small incision and attached to a suction machine. The procedure may take an hour or more.
The results of liposuction are permanent. While patients will normally see an immediate result after the post-surgical swelling has resolved, the final results will be seen at 6-12 months as mild changes continue to occur. Not all people are candidates for liposuction. During a consultation your skin’s elasticity will need to be evaluated to determine whether liposuction will deliver an ideal result. IF Dr. Spanganberg determines that your skin lacks sufficient elasticity, a skin tightening procedure may be required in combination with liposculpting.

Following liposuction, you may experience numbness and/or tingling around the incision site. These symptoms are almost always temporary. Please let us know if you are prone to scarring issues or keloid scar formation.
