William Shoemaker, DMD
Dr. Shoemaker was born in Waynesboro, Pennsylvania. He received a Bachelor of Arts in Chemistry from Washington and Jefferson College and his Doctorate in Dental Medicine from Tufts University. He completed a GPR at Berkshire Medical Center in Pittsfield, MA before being commissioned as a Lieutenant in the United States Navy. Dr. Shoemaker completed his residency training in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery through the Navy and served in numerous capacities as an Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeon in the military prior to being selected as the Department Chair, and Head of the Department of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery at Walter Reed National Military Medical Center in Bethesda, Maryland. Not only did he train residents in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery, but he was tasked with treating Wounded Warriors with extensive facial trauma. Dr. Shoemaker ultimately retired as a Captain after 22 years of honorable naval service.
Dr. Shoemaker is board certified by the American Board of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons, the National Dental Board of Anesthesiology and the American Society of Dental Anesthesiology. He is also a fellow of the American Association of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons.
